After signing an agreement with Mozambique rail authority CFM, Transnet, South Africa's state-owned logistics utility, will increase the rail capacity for another chrome shipment of 800,000 tons a year.

With the agreement, trains can run uninterrupted from Belfast, a small town in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, to the port of Maputo.

Transnet Freight Rail CEO Sizakele Mzimela said that rail transport is vital for economic development. The move will connect Africa to the world, enabling both railways to support the region's recovery.
