International crude oil prices rose on April 12 due to political tensions in the Middle East. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for May delivery increased by US$0.64, reaching US$85.66/barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for June delivery grew by US$0.71, settling at US$90.45/barrel.
