18 Apr 2024 16:08 reported by Stanley Wang

A A A
The latest data from the Dutch emissions authority NEA revealed a notable 13% reduction in combined carbon dioxide emissions from the largest Dutch industrial polluters last year, with the energy sector making significant strides. However, the Dutch aviation sector experienced an 11% increase in CO2 emissions despite ongoing efforts to mitigate its environmental impact.

The NEA report indicates that total aviation emissions, encompassing Dutch-supervised companies and flights within the EER, are approaching pre-pandemic levels in 2019.

Previously, the EU Emissions Trading System showed a 15.5% decrease in emissions across Europe in 2023 compared to the previous year, marking significant progress toward achieving the 2030 target of a 62% reduction from 2005 levels.
