7 May 2024 15:47 reported by Stanley Wang

A A A
In April, Turkish automobile sales dropped by 22.3% compared to the corresponding period a year ago to about 76,000 units, but still 16.2% higher than the average sales volume in April over the past 10 years.

Among them, sales of passenger vehicles fell by 20.6% year on year and by 29.4% month on month to around 61,000 units, and light commercial vehicles sales also dropped by 28.6% from the same month a year ago and by 36.4% from the previous month to about 14,000 units.

Because of the adoption of monetary tightening policies to reduce high inflation, Turkey's domestic automobile demand was forecasted to be lower than in 2023.
