Japan's automobile output falls sharply in Q1 y-o-y

According to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), Japan produced roughly 1.91 million units of automobiles in the first quarter of 2024, sliding by 14.4% from the same period a year ago.

Although Japan's automobile production fell year-on-year in the first quarter, production increased month-on-month in March. Japan produced around 710,000 units of automobiles in March, rising by 15.2% from the previous month while dropping by 18% yearly.
