According to data from the Mexican Automobile Industry Association (AMIA), the production of the Mexican automobile industry reached about 366,000 vehicles in May, a month-on-month increase of 1.9% and a year-on-year increase of 4.9%.

Among them, the top three cars in monthly production are General Motors, Nissan, and Stellantis (Chrysler and Fiat), with about 71,000 vehicles, 61,000 vehicles, and 42,000 vehicles, respectively.

In the first five months of this year, the domestic market shipment volume in Mexico reached about 586,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%. In May, the domestic market sales reached 120,000 vehicles, a month-on-month increase of 5.9% and a year-on-year increase of 12.3%.

In terms of exports, automobile exports reached 1.42 million units in the first five months of 2024, an increase of 12.3% year-on-year. In May, automobile exports reached about 311,000 units, a month-on-month increase of 7.2% and a year-on-year increase of 13%.
