From January to May 2024, Turkey's automobile production was about 607,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%. In May, Turkey's automobile production was nearly 132,000 units, an increase of about 35% from the previous month and a decrease of 3.7% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, domestic sales and export sales were about 105,000 units and 85,000 units, down by 9.7% and 1% year-on-year, respectively. In addition, Turkey imported about 73,000 vehicles in May, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%.

As the tight monetary policy implemented by the Turkish Central Bank has hit automobile sales, it is expected that automobile sales in 2024 will decrease by about 10% compared with 2023.
