A A A
Global stock markets continued to decline, causing international oil prices to fall on August 5. However, investors were concerned that contradictions in the Middle East Area may lead to broader conflict, which has limited the extent of the declines.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for September delivery decreased by US$0.58 (0.79%), reaching US$72.94/barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude for October delivery fell by US$0.51 (0.66%), settling at US$76.30/barrel.
