Middle East tensions drive international crude oil prices higher

Rising tensions in the Middle East have led international crude oil prices to rebound. On August 8, crude oil prices increased for the third consecutive trading day as the United States employment data eased market concerns about oil demand.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for September delivery increased by US$0.96 (1.28%), reaching US$76.19/barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude for October delivery rose by US$0.83 (1.06%), settling at US$79.16/barrel.
