US’ tinplate imports increase in Jun y-o-y

According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 53,000 tons of tinplate in June, falling by 41% compared to the previous month while hiking 17% from the same month a year earlier.

Among them, the imports from the Netherlands accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 14,400 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 55.6% and a year-on-year drop of 13.3%. Other import sources included Germany (around 13,000 tons) and Canada (around 9,000 tons).

During the period, the import value was around US$84 million, a month-on-month decrease of 36.8% and a slight year-on-year growth of 0.2%.
