IABr: Brazil's crude steel production, domestic steel sales, consumption register yearly increase in Jan-Aug

According to Brazil's steel organization IABr, the country's crude steel production reached 2.96 million tons in August this year, a growth of 7.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Domestic steel sales during this month totaled 1.9 million tons, an increase of 12.9% compared to August 2023, while apparent steel consumption was 2.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%.

During the first eight months of this year, Brazil's crude steel production reached 22.4 million tons, representing an increase of 3.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, steel domestic sales and apparent consumption grew by 6.6% and 8.3% respectively, on the same basis of comparison.
