Brazil sharply drops wire rod exports in Sep

According to statistics, Brazil’s wire rod exports totaled around 9,800 tons in September, plunging by 38.8% compared to the preceding month and by 44.6% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the exports were mainly to South American countries, with around 7,400 tons, followed by 2,300 tons to the Dominican Republic. The supply from ArcelorMittal accounted for the largest share, totaling roughly 8,700 tons.

During the same period, Brazil’s wire rod imports reached approximately 21,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 24.4%. Among them, China was the biggest import source with roughly 11,000 tons, and Egypt ranked second with nearly 10,000 tons.
