Turkey’s wire rod exports surge in Q1-Q3 y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s wire rod exports amounted to around 736,000 tons in the first three quarters of this year, significantly hiking by 76% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value was also up by 63% year on year to roughly US$451 million.

Among them, Romania was the main export destination with roughly 237,000 tons, a year-on-year surge of 276%. Bulgaria followed with around 67,000 tons, soaring by 784% year on year. Australia ranked third with 56,000 tons, up by 59% year on year.

In September alone, Turkey exported around 121,000 tons of wire rods, rising by 183% from the preceding month and by 122% from the same month a year earlier. The export value was up by 180% month on month and by 127% year on year to US$72 million.
