A joint venture between Abu Dhabi's Al Seer Marine and Dutch shipbuilder Damen International is set to expand into the commercial shipbuilding market. The collaboration, known as Dune, plans to produce over 26 vessels within the UAE next year, catering to both local and international clients.

Established in 2022 with a focus on naval shipbuilding, Dune will now leverage Al Seer Marine's Abu Dhabi facility and Albwardy Damen's shipyards in Sharjah, Fujairah, and Dubai. Board member Annelies Damen expressed confidence in delivering innovative maritime solutions, combining local manufacturing with Damen's established regional shipyards. Beyond shipbuilding, Dune will manage the technical, operational, and financial aspects of both commercial and naval vessels.
