Brazil’s automotive production in Nov sees year-on-year growth

Brazil’s automotive production reached around 236,000 units in November, down from about 249,000 in October, according to industry group Anfavea. Domestic sales fell by 4.3% to about 254,000 units, while exports dropped by 9.7% to about 39,000 units month-on-month.

Compared to November 2023, production rose by 16.5%, domestic sales grew by 19.2%, and exports surged by 63.4%. For January-November 2024, production increased 9.6% year-on-year to about 2.36 million units, while domestic sales rose by 15.4% to around 2.4 million units. However, exports decreased by 3% to nearly 367,000 units.

Anfavea president Márcio de Lima Leite expects Brazil’s domestic auto sales to grow 15% in 2024, ranking the country first among the world’s ten largest automotive markets by sales growth.
