Maersk: Global container shipping volume to increase by 5%-7% in 2025

Charles van der Steene, regional president of Maersk North America, predicted that the overall growth rate of global container market volume will be between 5% and 7% in 2025. The main reason is that the US may have a strong demand for foreign-made goods due to port strikes and tariffs.

Van der Steene said that they will help customers analyze their order routes based on products and the risks the company is prepared to take, sometimes even two months in advance. Maersk also predicts that the disruption in the Red Sea will continue until 2025.

In addition, due to strong demand in the container market, Maersk revised its full-year profit forecast in October and revised the previously estimated global container full-year volume growth rate of 4%-6% to around 6%.
