US container imports hit record high in Jan 2025

17 Feb 2025 10:24 reported by Eva Chen

According to Descartes, a global leading company in providing logistics software solutions, US container imports reached a record 2.49 million TEUs in January 2025, up 5% month-on-month. The main reason was that US importers were worried about higher costs with the implementation of Trump Tariff 2.0.

In addition, the logistics update in February not only highlights the strong start of total US container imports in 2025 but also highlights the tensions in trade policies. The continued geopolitical instability in the Middle East also poses challenges to the supply chain.
