YKK AP America, a manufacturer of commercial facade systems and residential doors and windows, said it now sources 80% of its aluminum from low-carbon North American suppliers as part of its “Evolution 2030” initiative.

The company recycles 100% of in-house aluminum scrap and ensures at least 30% recycled content in its aluminum billets.

In one year, it reduced carbon emissions from aluminum billet production by 50% year on year and continues investing in production upgrades, energy efficiency, automation, and the conversion to electricity and renewable energy.

The company’s ISO 14001-certified manufacturing plants, including the Erie Architectural Products plant in Ontario, support its sustainability efforts and reduce its impact on the environment and the pollution and waste it generates during the manufacturing.
