Global crude steel production decreases in Feb y-o-y

According to data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel production in February was approximately 144.7 million tons, marking a 3.4% decline compared to the same period last year.

Among the regions, Africa produced around 1.9 million tons, recording a 7.6% increase from the previous year. In contrast, production in Asia and Oceania totaled 107.3 million tons, reflecting a 2.6% decline. Europe, the Middle East, and North America reported outputs of approximately 10.1 million tons, 3.7 million tons, and 8.2 million tons, respectively.

In terms of countries, China, India, and Japan were the top three steel producers. China led with 78.9 million tons, decreasing by 3.3% year on year, followed by India at 12.7 million tons (up by 6.3% year-on-year) and Japan at 6.4 million tons (down by 8.5% year-on-year).
