Grundfos to adopt low-carbon steel from Outokumpu in sustainability push

30 May 2025 15:56 reported by Daniel Lyu

A A A

Finnish stainless steel manufacturer Outokumpu has entered into a new supply agreement with Danish pump and water technology company Grundfos, marking a significant step forward in both firms’ environmental initiatives.

Grundfos, which has long sourced conventional stainless steel from Outokumpu, will now transition the majority of its production to a more sustainable alternative. Under the deal, Grundfos will incorporate Outokumpu’s Circle Green® steel, a low-emission product designed to significantly reduce carbon output across the supply chain.

The move is expected to substantially shrink Grundfos’s environmental impact, as the new material offers a dramatic reduction in emissions compared to standard options.
