Japan's automobile output rises in Q1 y-o-y

According to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), Japan produced roughly 2.14 million units of automobiles (including passenger cars, trucks, and buses) in the first quarter of 2025, rising by 12.2% from the same period a year ago.

During this period, Japan's domestic automobile sales increased by 14% year-over-year to about 1.29 million units, while total exports amounted to roughly 1.02 million units, marking a 2.7% annual rise.

Besides, Japan produced about 724,000 units of automobiles in March, increasing by 2% yearly. Domestic auto sales reached around 500,000 units, a 11% year-on-year increase; exports totaled roughly 360,000 units, up 3.2% yearly.
