According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on June 13, 2025, the US rig count decreased by four to 555 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas fell by one to 113 units, and that for oil decreased by three to 439 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 35 units or 6%.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count hiked by 24 to 138 units from the previous week, including 91 oil rigs (up by two week on week) and 47 gas rigs (up by two week on week). Canada’s rig number slid by 22 units compared to the same period a year ago.
