US reports m-o-m, y-o-y increase in OCTG imports in Apr

According to preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported nearly 180,000 tons of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) in April, rising by 25% compared to the previous month and by 61% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, imports from South Korea soared and accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 33,000 tons, a month-on-month hike of 22% and a year-on-year surge of 284%. Taiwan ranked second with roughly 29,000 tons, followed by Austria’s 27,000 tons.

The value generated by OCTG imports in April amounted to approximately US$228 million, up by 19% month on month and by 24% year on year.
