According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on June 20, 2025, the US rig count decreased by one to 554 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas fell by two to 111 units, and that for oil decreased by one to 438 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 34 units or 6%.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count hiked by one to 139 units from the previous week, including 93 oil rigs (up by two week on week) and 46 gas rigs (down by one week on week). Canada’s rig number slid by 27 units compared to the same period a year ago.
