According to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), Japan produced approximately 3.45 million units of automobiles (including passenger cars, trucks, and buses) from January to May, representing a 7.5% increase from the same period a year ago.
During this period, Japan's domestic automobile sales grew by 11.3% year-over-year to approximately 1.95 million units, and total exports reached about 1.68 million units, representing a 1.3% yearly increase.
Besides, Japan produced about 638,000 automobiles in May, a 2% decline year-on-year. Domestic auto sales reached around 324,000 units, a 3.7% increase compared to the previous year; exports totaled roughly 301,000 units, up 1.9% annually.
