Ukraine's scrap exports significantly increase in Jul y-o-y

According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the country's scrap exports reached around 44,800 tons in July, decreasing by 6.8% compared to the previous month but soaring by 112% from the same period last year.

Poland was the primary destination, receiving about 34,100 tons, a month-on-month increase of 5% and a year-on-year rise of 76%.

In the first seven months of this year, Ukraine exported approximately 248,000 tons of scrap, a year-on-year increase of 66.4%. The majority of these exports went to Poland, accounting for 82%, followed by Greece and Italy.

In terms of imports, Ukraine only imported 34 tons of scrap in the January-July period, with an import value of US$12,000.
