US opens inclusions window for Section 232 steel and aluminum tariff changes

A A A
The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) has opened a new two-week period for companies to request that additional derivative steel and aluminum articles be subject to Section 232 tariffs. This inclusions window is opened on September 15, 2025, and will be closed on September 29, 2025.

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) is managing this process. The system was established through presidential proclamations earlier this year, which imposed duties on certain steel and aluminum imports under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.

After the submission period closes, all accepted requests will be posted online for a two-week public comment period.
