United States crude oil supplies unexpectedly decline, raising concerns about a potential supply shortage. International crude oil prices rose on September 24, hitting a seven-week high.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for November delivery increased by US$1.58 (2.5%), reaching US$64.99 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. 

Brent crude for November delivery rose by US$1.68 (2.5%), settling at US$69.31 per barrel. It was Brent's highest closing price since August 1.
