International crude oil prices rose on October 13, buoyed by signs of easing US-China trade tensions and the lack of breakdown in prospects for a potential Trump-Xi summit later this month. The two major crude futures rebounded from last week's five-month low, though West Texas Intermediate crude has yet to climb back above US$60 per barrel.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for November delivery increased by US$0.59 (1%), reaching US$59.49 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude for December delivery rose by US$0.59 (0.94%), settling at US$63.32 per barrel.
