U.S. Steel announced a transformative partnership with Nippon Steel on November 4, 2025, marking a new growth era for the American steel industry through substantial capital investments and advanced technology sharing.

The collaboration includes a multi-year plan targeting approximately US$14 billion in US growth capital, with US$11 billion scheduled for investment by the end of 2028.

This partnership is expected to unlock roughly US$3 billion in value, comprising US$2.5 billion from capital investments and US$500 million from operational efficiencies.

The initiative will leverage cutting-edge technology to improve product quality, expand premium offerings, and accelerate market delivery while focusing on modernized manufacturing and lower-emission steel solutions. The growth plan aims to protect and create over 100,000 jobs across the US while strengthening the communities where U.S. Steel operates.
