Kia Corporation, South Korea's auto manufacturer, launched its dedicated Purpose Built Vehicle (PBV) factory, the Hwaseong EVO Plant, on November 14, establishing its PBV business as a core future pillar. The company invested 4 trillion won to create a system capable of producing 250,000 vehicles annually across two lines.

The newly finished EVO East Plant (100,000 units/year) will manufacture the Kia PV5, while the West Line (150,000 units/year) will begin operations in 2027 with larger PBVs such as the Kia PV7. Incorporating the E-FOREST smart factory brand, the plant integrates flexible production and low-carbon technologies.

Kia aims for 250,000 global PBV sales by 2030 and is collaborating with more than 100 global firms to develop specialized B2B solutions.
