Poland’s government announced a US$2.3 billion investment for the Pomeranian Cape project, its largest in the 75-year history of the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority. The plan creates a massive Deepwater Container Terminal near Germany to serve as a key distribution hub for Central Europe, including the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka said the terminal will accommodate the world's largest container ships, guaranteeing Poland's budget income for many years and enhancing the nation's security and maritime presence.

The facility will feature three kilometers of new quay, a 17-meter deep port basin, and a transshipment capacity of two million TEU.

The investment covers land, seaway improvements, new road and rail links, and zero-emission transshipment technologies.
