China exported US$254 million in fasteners to Thailand in the first three quarters of 2025, totaling about 107,000 tons and making Thailand the sixth-largest market for Chinese fastener exports. With Thailand’s economy expected to improve in the first quarter of next year, demand for fasteners is projected to rise.

According to customs statistics, Thailand exported 20.85 billion baht worth of fasteners in 2024, or about CNY4.56 billion, with major destinations including the US, India, Germany, Japan, and Indonesia. Meanwhile, fastener imports reached 36.855 billion baht, or CNY8.053 billion yuan, mainly from Japan, China, Taiwan, the US, Malaysia, Germany, and South Korea.

Thailand’s economic performance has been mixed this year. Growth in the first half benefited from companies’ “pre-shipment” activities ahead of tariff measures, while external demand weakened notably in the second half due to U.S. tariff policies. Despite this, the fastener market has shown strong resilience. The Bank of Thailand expects the economy to improve in the first quarter of 2026, supported by government stimulus measures, with fastener demand likely to increase next year.
