Maersk to resume Red Sea route

The Suez Canal Authority and Maersk recently signed a cooperation agreement, ushering in a new era of cooperation across multiple sectors of shipping and logistics.

Currently, significant developments in the situation around the Bab al-Mandab Strait have created favorable conditions for the resumption of Maersk's east-west shipping routes through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea. Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc stated that, provided the safety of crew members is ensured, they will begin a phased resumption of Suez Canal passage in December, but the specific date for resumption remains undetermined.

The Suez Canal has always been the most suitable and efficient waterway for global trade between East and West. The return of Maersk vessels to the Suez Canal will be a positive start and will also encourage more shipping companies to return to the Red Sea region and the Suez Canal.

Furthermore, the two sides are exploring new areas of cooperation within the framework of this strategic partnership, including ship scrapping, container manufacturing and repair, shipyard construction, and the development of logistics services.
