COSCO suspends new Middle East bookings amid rising tegional tensions

COSCO Shipping, one of the world’s largest shipping companies, announced on March 4 that it will temporarily suspend new cargo bookings for routes to the Middle East. The decision comes as tensions in the region continue to escalate and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz faces increasing restrictions.

The company said the move is a precautionary measure to ensure cargo safety and maintain stable operations. Existing shipments and scheduled voyages will be adjusted according to real-time safety assessments and sea conditions.

Analysts warn the situation could temporarily disrupt regional trade and energy transportation.
