South African Kumba forecasts to increase iron ore production in Q2

20 Jul 2022 16:37 reported by Stanley Wang

A A A
After rain and equipment problems impact, South Africa Kumba Iron Ore forecasted that iron ore production in the second quarter would increase to 10.4 million tons, increasing by 20% quarter on quarter and by 6% year on year.

Meanwhile, the sales were almost equal compared to last year and decreased by 3% quarter on quarter.

The difference between sales and production was because the restriction of the rail network operated by Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) continued. TFR said that copper cable theft and the low availability of locomotives made low delivery.

However, with the finish of the annual shutdown and increasing available trains, the delivery volume will be improved.
