South African Kumba’s production & exports interrupted due to strike at state-owned logistics company

South Africa's Kumba Iron Ore announced that its production and exports were interrupted because of a strike at state-owned logistics company Transnet.

Kumba estimated that the impact of production in the first seven days was approximately 50,000 tons per day. After a week, the impact of production would be about 90,000 tons per day. Besides, the exports would be impacted by 120,000 tons every day.

The production and exports in 2021 at Kumba were 40.9 million tons and 40.2 million tons, respectively.
