Merafe Resources, a ferrochrome producer based in South Africa, reported that its ferrochrome production totaled 97,000 tons in the fourth quarter of the 2022 financial year, dropping by 5% compared to the year-ago level. The total output in the 2021 financial year reached 384,000 tons, up by 1.32% year on year.

Merafe Resources said that the production levels were reached although South African state-owned power utility Eskom’s load curtailments affected its operations.
