Companhia Siderúrgica do Cuchi (CSC), a pig iron producer in Angola, started a trial period for the experimental production of pig iron on May 1, with a daily average production of 150 to 200 tons of pig iron.

Geraldo Basques, director of CSC, said the daily output will vary at this range until it reaches the maximum daily production of 300 tons. The annual output could be 1,500 tons in the near future.

The pig iron could be exported from the Port of Namibe to international markets, including the US and countries in Europe and Asia.
