Cochilco releases copper market outlook with price and supply forecasts

Cochilco, Chile's national copper commission, has released a copper market outlook report, forecasting a copper price of 4.25 per pound in 2025 and expecting a price maintained above US$4.00 per pound for the next decade.  

The report also notes that there will be a global copper supply shortage of 118,000 tons this year, but a surplus of 210,000 tons is expected by 2026. 

Additionally, Chile's copper production is set to increase by 4.6% this year, reaching 5.76 million tons, and will continue to grow by 3.6% by 2026.
