Turkey decreases scrap imports in Jan

Statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) showed that Turkey imported a total of roughly 1.5 million tons of scrap in January, a year-on-year decrease of 20%. The import value fell by 26% year on year, reaching US$554.7 million.

Among them, the supply from the Netherlands was the most, totaling roughly 254,000 tons, a year-on-year drop of 7.4%. The UK and the US ranked second and third, with roughly 206,000 tons (up by 65% year on year) and 147,000 tons (down by 59% year on year), respectively.
