Turkey’s pig iron imports grow in Jan y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported a total of around 159,000 tons of pig iron in January, falling by 15% compared to the previous month but growing by 39% from the corresponding period a year ago.

Among them, Russia continued to be the largest supplier of Turkey’s pig iron imports, with a supply of roughly 96,000 tons, down by 4.1% year on year. Indonesia emerged in second place with 47,100 tons, followed by Kazakhstan’s 15,500 tons, soaring by 626% year on year.

The import value of these products reached approximately US$61 million, falling by 12% month on month but increasing by 25% year on year.
