Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports fall in Jun m-o-m

According to statistics from Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), the country’s ferrous scrap exports totaled around 84,000 tons in June, falling by 2.5% compared to the previous month but rising by 24 from the same month a year earlier.

In the first half of this year, Brazil exported a total of roughly 418,000 tons of ferrous scrap, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%. Among them, the exports to India accounted for the largest proportion at 63% of the total volume.

In terms of imports, Brazil’s ferrous scrap import volume came to roughly 1,150 tons in June, down by 7.2% year on year. The imports during the January-June period amounted to approximately 6,200 tons, a year-on-year fall of 31%. Among them, Germany was the biggest source with a share of 36%.
