Swiss commodity trading and mining company Glencore has reported its first-half 2025 production results, with mixed performance across various commodities.

During the period, copper production had a significant decrease, falling 26% year on year to 343,900 tons, primarily due to lower head grades and recoveries at major operations like Collahuasi, Antapaccay, Antamina, and KCC.

Zinc production increased by 12% year on year to 465,200 tons, driven by higher zinc grades at Antamina and production volumes at its McArthur River mine. Meanwhile, nickel production declined by 7% to 36,600 tons, a result of maintenance shutdowns at the Murrin Murrin mine.

The company's overall production, measured in copper equivalents, increased by 5% year on year, mainly due to the contribution of steelmaking coal volumes at Elk Valley Resources (EVR).
