According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan imported approximately 312,200 tons of scrap in August, a 0.1% increase compared to the previous month and a 10% hike from the same month last year.

During this period, steel product imports totaled around 370,500 tons, falling by 7.3% month on month and soaring by 113% year on year.

The value of Pakistan's scrap imports reached about US$154 million in July, a 0.04% month-on-month growth and a 10% drop from the same month of the previous year. Meanwhile, the value of steel product imports amounted to roughly US$228 million, up by 79% month on month and dropping by 6% year on year.
