Brazil’s iron ore exports slide in Sep m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil’s iron ore exports totaled about 36.5 million tons in September, falling by 9% compared to the previous month and by 0.8% from the year-ago level.

Among them, the shipment to China accounted for the largest proportion at nearly 71% of the total, reaching 27 million tons. China was followed by Malaysia’s 5.2% proportion, totaling about 1.9 million tons.

In the first nine months of this year, Brazil’s iron ore exports amounted to approximately 303 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%.
