Pakistan’s scrap imports grow in Sep m-o-m, y-o-y

According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan imported approximately 360,000 tons of scrap in September, increasing by 36% compared to the previous month and by 30% from the same month last year.

During this period, steel product imports totaled around 365,200 tons, rising by 6.3% month on month and by 31% year on year.

The value of Pakistan's scrap imports reached about US$178 million in September, a 15% month-on-month growth and an 11% hike from the same month of the previous year. Meanwhile, the value of steel product imports amounted to roughly US$219 million, sliding by 4% month on month and growing by 17% year on year.
