Hancock Iron Ore has made its Roy Hill mine in Western Australia's Pilbara region the world's largest fully agnostic autonomous mine.

Epiroc converted all 78 haul trucks, a mixed fleet of 54 Caterpillar 793F trucks and 24 Hitachi EH5000 trucks, to driverless operation using its LinkOA traffic management and on-board automation systems. 60 trucks are already autonomous, moving more than 250 million tons of material.

The LinkOA systems communicate with the Remote Operations Centre 1,100 km away in Perth. The final phase is on track for completion by December this year.

Epiroc recorded approximately SEK 300 million in revenue for the third quarter of 2025 from the project and expects recurring revenue going forward.
