Taiwan’s Feng Hsin maintains rebar, scrap, section steel prices

Feng Hsin Steel Co., Ltd., a leading long steel producer in Taiwan, announced that it will keep its product prices unchanged this week, consistent with market expectations.

The current price for rebar stays at NT$16,200/ton, scrap remains at NT$7,800/ton, and section steel is flat at NT$23,000/ton. The decision comes as the market is focused on reducing existing inventory, resulting in very few new orders last week. Despite a small drop in international raw material costs, the expanding depreciation of the NT dollar effectively keeps import prices stable. Maintaining price stability is intended to support the market's ongoing stock clearing.

Feng Hsin said that there were no offers from the US scrap shipment and Japan’s H2 scrap last week. US containerized scrap was unchanged at US$300/ton, and Australia’s iron ore prices fell by 5.2% to US$100.75/ton.
