Hindustan Zinc secures tungsten mining rights in Andhra Pradesh

24 Nov 2025 14:48 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), an Indian integrated mining and resources producer under Vedanta Group, announced that it received a composite license from the Andhra Pradesh government to explore and mine a tungsten block.

This development enables the company to expand its portfolio beyond its main production of zinc, lead, and silver to include essential and valuable minerals. A composite license grants HZL both the exploration rights and, upon successful discovery, the subsequent mining rights.

This license aligns with HZL's goal to increase its involvement in key minerals essential for advanced manufacturing, securing its path for future growth while maintaining its position as the world's leading integrated zinc producer.
